Within a central circle surrounded by a dotted circle, ‘sulṭān al-barrayn / wa khāqān al-baḥrayn / al-Sulṭān ibn / al-Sulṭān’ (‘The Sultan of the two lands and the Khaqan of the two seas, Sultan son of Sultan’ in Arabic). Rev. Within a central circle surrounded by a dotted circle, Tughra of Mahmud I; a small lotus to right; below, ‘ʿazza naṣruhū ḍuriba fī / Miṣr sana / 1143’ (‘May his victory be honoured! Struck in Misr, year 1143’ in Arabic). KM 86. In PCGS encapsulation, graded MS 62. Minor scratch on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
